Custom webring for this community

I have decided I’ll create a webring for our community. You can show interest by telling me which of your website should be part of this webring.

The requirements are:

  • Be part of this community
  • Include the webring component on your page

If you are added to the webring, but don’t include the webring snippet on your site, it will be removed from the webring.

Whats a webring?

A webring is a ring of websites that link to each other. The webring I’ll create will have its own url, and when someone presses on next or previous from your website, it’ll go to the according next or previous website in the list. And if it reached the end of it, it’ll loop back to the beginning.

What do I need from you?

  • The URL of the landing page of your website where the webring is relevant. Could be your homepage, or the page of your blog where your posts are seen. This will be the entry point.
  • Website name and optionally your name.

The websites will also be included on the webring website itself in a list.

Format that I require.

And when you are part of the Webring, you must also add the HTML snippet that displays that, so that the webring can work. Without it, it cannot be part of a webring. The snippet will look like this, and you can style it however you want. It should be visible from the root of the linked site and its subpages.

The generator is available on the website at the bottom.

Why?

Because it’s fun and it’s a great way to discover new websites without having to use social media for it.

(im gonna start blogging soon.. i swear… i only bought the domain today..)

my only questions about it is where should I expect the snippet? Email? Here? Discord?

Could you both provide the following information?

  • Landing page url
  • Name
  • 1 paragraph description

This information will be used on the website to showcase which websites are part of the webring.

  • they dont exist for my use case
  • they’re paid &/or sell user data

  • excalidraw didnt have math features

Could you format it into url, name and description for each? Those will be displayed on the website for others to see.

Your current descriptions don’t seem to be for public viewers to see.

@morrowshore I will add you, make sure to add the html snippet described above, you find the generator on the website.

@siq and @nacabaro the webring is done, please give me your details in the format described in the OP and add the snippet to your websites.
